Coloniae is a series of artifacts about the relationship between man and plant. The items in the series are conceived as dwellings for a colony, and as such are created with a predefined form. However, each structure is designed to interact with the plant it houses, allowing it to grow over it, redefining its appearance. Over time, the plant will begin to interact with the object through its roots and leaves, eventually colonising it. In this way, Coloniae rethinks the vase (and other complementary artifacts) as content rather than container, and the plants as agents in the definition of a hybrid organism co-participated by human action. The Munzo vase is made out of perforated aluminium sheets, with matt copper or matt bronze finishing. The central structural element and soil container are made from aluminium and have a matt silver finish.
